Cleveland(OH)- The Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a dominant road performance, routing the top-seeded Detroit Pistons 125-94 on Sunday night to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2018.

Donovan Mitchell led the way with 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Jarrett Allen added 23 points, Evan Mobley scored 21, and Sam Merrill chipped in 23 off the bench in a balanced attack that featured four 20-point scorers — a rarity in Game 7 history. Cleveland jumped out to a 31-22 lead after the first quarter and held a 64-47 halftime advantage, pushing the margin to 92-69 late in the third.

The Pistons, despite their No. 1 seed and resilience in forcing Game 7 with a Game 6 win at home in Cleveland, struggled offensively. They never scored more than 26 points in any quarter. Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren combined for just 20 points on 8-of-23 shooting, while Daniss Jenkins led Detroit with 17 points.

Cleveland improves to 6-0 in Game 7s since 2016 and will face the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pistons’ season ends after a strong regular season and multiple elimination-game victories earlier in the playoffs.

The Cavaliers now prepare for a showdown against the Knicks starting Tuesday.
