The No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels defeated the No. 3 seed Georgia Bulldogs by a final score of 39-34 in a thrilling back-and-forth game. Ole Miss advanced to the CFP semifinals against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, while Georgia's season ended.

The game kicked off with Ole Miss setting the tone early. Kicker Lucas Carneiro, nailed a 55 yard field goal to open the scoring, followed by an even longer 56 yarder both breaking Sugar Bowl records for longest field goals. Georgia responded with a gritty drive, capped by quarterback Gunner Stockton's 12 yard rushing touchdown to take a 7-6 lead. But Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, the eventual offensive MVP, wasn't fazed. He connected on a 39 yard pass to wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling and then found tight end Luke Hasz for a 3-yard touchdown pass, reclaiming the lead for the Rebels.

Stockton, showing his dual-threat skills , answered back with a short keeper for another touchdown after a controversial 26-yard completion to Cash Jones, where an apparent illegal hit went uncalled. The first half's turning point came when Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy fumbled, and Georgia's Daylen Everette scooped it up for a 47-yard untouched touchdown return, giving the Bulldogs a 21-12 halftime edge. It was a defensive highlight in a game dominated by offense, but Ole Miss wasn't done.

The third quarter saw Georgia extend their lead to 24-19 on a 37-yard field goal by Peyton Woodring, aided by a bold fake punt where Landon Roldan threw a reverse pass to Lawson Luckie for a first down. But Chambliss and the Rebels flipped the script. On a cfourth down, Chambliss hit Harrison Wallace III for a 36-yard gain, setting up Lacy's 7-yard touchdown run to tie it at 21-19. Later, Chambliss found Wallace again for a back-shoulder touchdown, pushing Ole Miss ahead 34-24.

Georgia refused to fold. Stockton delivered an 18-yard touchdown pass to Zachariah Branch, and Woodring tied it at 34-34 with a short field goal with just 55 seconds remaining. With the game on the line, Chambliss orchestrated a final drive, completing a 40-yard bomb to Stribling on third down from their own

30. This set up Carneiro's game-winning 47-yard field goal with six seconds left. In a bizarre finale, Georgia's kickoff return involved a cross-field lateral that hit the pylon for a safety, adding two more points to Ole Miss's tally. The Bulldogs recovered an onside kick but couldn't capitalize as time expired.
