1.Jacorian Sewell: Jacorian Sewell is one to watch this upcoming season. The junior running back from Alcorn State had an outstanding 2024 season. He rushed for 801 yards with 139 carries and six touchdowns. His longest run was against Jackson State when he scored an 82-yard touchdown. Against Mississippi Valley State, he had 12 carries, 164 rushing yards (13.7 yards per carry), and one touchdown in a 42-21 victory. He averaged 66.8 yards per game (5.8 yards per carry average), showcasing his consistency and playmaking abilities.

2.Thad Franklin: Thad Frank Jr. is another top running back to keep an eye on. The senior from Florida A&M had 120 carries, 653 yards, and 5 touchdowns while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. In the 2024 Florida Classic, he had a record-breaking game. He had 26 carries with 195 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns with a 41-38 win over Bethune-Cookman. Besides his rushing stats, Frank is a dual-threat running back. He caught 19 passes for 162 yards with 2 touchdowns this past season.

3.BJ Curry: BJ is another dual-threat running back from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, showcasing his speed and receiving skills in the backfield. The junior running back had a standout 2024 season, with 120 carries for 509 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per carry with 4 touchdowns. He earned SWAC weekly honors for his 46 yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 21-17 comeback win over Prairie View A&M.

4.Lamagea McDowell: The senior running back from Prairie View A&M had a solid 2024 season, rushing for 444 yards with 111 carries and 7 rushing touchdowns. On September 28, 2024, he scored a one-yard game-winning touchdown in a 36-34 victory over Grambling State.
