In a hard fought victory Lady Golden Lions overcame a 53-49 win over Prairie View. This win marked UAPB first conference win of the season improving their record 4-10 overall and 1-2 SWAC play snapping a four game winning streak.

In the first quarter the Lady Lions had a slim 15-14 lead and in the second quarter they maintained their lead, outshooting Prairie View 14-14 from the field. Halftime the Lions were up 29-28 third guard UAPB pulled away with a 16-11 advantage building a 45-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Prairie View was on its way making a comeback but couldn't overcome UAPB rebound and defense. The lady lions had 46 rebounds including 17 offensive rebounds and 29 defensive rebounds,

On the defensive side they held Prairie View to 31.9% shooting and forced 15 turnovers UAPB, Jailah Pelly and Tyra Taylor both scored 17 points combined for 34 Points. Indian Bowmen scored 14 points and made 4 out 18 threes while Briontanay and Marshalls had a career high eleven rebounds.
